The former Leeds forward tripped while stepping onto a ferry in Sydney during an outing with his Roosters team-mates.
Morley had only just returned to action after 10 weeks out following back surgery. He also damaged his ribs earlier in the season and missed a large chunk of last year, including the Ashes Series against Australia, after breaking his arm. "My mates found it quite funny but my coach wasn't too pleased," an embarrassed Morley told BBC Sport Online. "I just stepped on a thick piece of rope and ended up turning my ankle. "I didn't think it was too serious at first, but the next day my ankle blew up like a balloon. "I've had a scan and there is no sign of any ligament damage. "I shouldn't be out for too long, but the gods aren't smiling on me at the moment." | See also: 28 May 02 | Rugby League 05 Oct 02 | Rugby League 10 Apr 02 | Rugby League Top Rugby League stories now: Links to more Rugby League stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
