The 1998 US amateur champion, who ousted Karrie Webb of Australia on Friday, never lost a hole as she overwhelmed Fudo by 6&5. "Obviously she's (Fudo) number one in Japan but today just wasn't her day," said the 23-year-old Korean. "She made a few bogeys and I didn't make any mistakes. I made four birdies and she didn't play that well, so it was lucky for me." Seeking her third US tour title, Park will take on Carin Koch in the semi-finals on Sunday after the Swede defeated American Michele Redman by 2&1. "I'm tired today because it was a tough match, but I'll be ready to go tomorrow. It's 36 holes, but it's only one day," Koch said. "She (Park) is playing really good and she can reach some of the par-fives in two that I can't, so I've just got to play steady and make some putts, which is what I've been doing." Park's compatriot Han Hee-Won, last year's US Rookie of the Year, also reached the semi-finals when she defeated American Rosie Jones by 5&4. Midori Yoneyama became the only representative of the host country by beating American Kelly Robbins 4&3 for a place against Han. |
