Luke Donald
Donald won by one stroke
Britain's Luke Donald won the Southern Farm Bureau Classic after bad weather forced the cancellation of the final round in Madison, Mississippi.

None of the competitors managed to finish their last 18 holes on Sunday, and the same poor conditions on Monday gave Donald an unexpected victory.

It is the 24-year-old Englishman's first PGA Tour win in 41 starts - he had never finished better than 13th.

Donald, who turned professional last year, is the PGA Tour's 18th first-time winner this year. His triumphed netted him $468,000.

The 1999 individual NCAA champion while at Northwestern University, he matched a career high by putting together three rounds in the 60s.

Currently residing in Chicago, Donald is 106th on the tour money list and has already retained his card for next season.

South African Deane Pappas finished second at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi, with second-round leader Brad Elder in third.

Final leaderboard (US unless stated):

201 Luke Donald (GB)
202 Deane Pappas (SA)
203 Brad Elder
204 Chad Campbell
205 Robin Freeman, Jay Williamson, Chris Smith, Spike McRoy, Jonathan Byrd, Brad Faxon
