Third play-off hole For the fourth time in a hour, Woods plays another textbook iron shot off the 18th tee as the players try once more to find a winner. Montgomerie, however, finds the front edge of the second of three bunkers to the left of the fairway and he faces a difficult task to hit the green.
Woods takes a seven iron for his second shot but pushes it through the green to the foot of the grandstand.
Montgomerie tries an ambitious shot out of the bunker but he ends up finding the water and it looks like his title chances are over.
He drops onto the fairway and hits his fourth shot to within 20 feet of the hole.
Woods chips onto the green with his third shot and victory is almost in his grasp.
Montgomerie has to hole his putt to have any chance of forcing another play-off hole but misses.
The stage is set for Woods and he makes no mistake clinching victory with a neat putt to retain his title.

Second play-off hole: It is back to the 18th tee yet again for Montgomerie and Woods. Yet again, Woods tees off first and uses a two iron to hit an almost identical shot to his drive on the first play-off hole.
Montgomerie uses a three wood and his well-placed tee shot rolls just past Woods' ball.
Woods uses the six iron again but his ball drops into the rough at the back of the green.
Montgomerie hits a similar shot and also finds the back of the green. He chips onto the green and leaves himself with a putt of less than three foot.
Woods' chip onto the green is well placed and he has a putt of around a foot which he dispatches.
Montgomerie needs to make his three foot putt and yet again, the players cannot be separated.
First play-off hole: The players go back to the 18th tee for the first play-off hole. Woods tees off first and his shot goes straight down the middle of the fairway.
Montgomerie's tee shot is not as accurate or as long and he has a tight angle to play out of.
He plays a sensible shot onto the green with his second shot.
Woods shows his class, playing a six iron and he hits an almost perfect shot to the green to give him the advantage.
Montgomerie hits a long putt which stops short and he has to wait to see what Woods can come up with.
The Masters champion has a championship-winning downhill putt of around 12 feet but it moves right at the end and lips out agonisingly yet again.
Montgomerie needs to make a three and a half foot putt to force a second play-off hole and he keeps his cool to do it.
Hole 18: Both hit shots of a similar distance off the tee. Woods finds the rough at the edge of the green and Montgomerie, with a five iron, uses a little too much power and misses the green, landing in the rough at the back.
Woods recovers but uses too much power and his third shot rolls well past the hole to give Montgomerie an opportunity.
He chips delicately onto the green and a par is within easy difference.
The pressure is on Woods who hasn't been putting at his best during the tournament. But he responds magnificently to get a par.
Montgomerie is now the man under the strain and he gets a par to force a sudden-death play-off.

Hole 17: As the tension mounts, both players go into the rough with their second shots. Montgomerie finds the green and has a tricky birdie attempt and sees the ball stop short. He gets a par.
Woods finds the green but the ball rolls a little back. His birdie effort drifts past the hole and he is left with a difficult putt to save par which he holes.
Justin Rose pars the 18th to stay at 19 under.

Hole 16: At the final par-three of the round, reasonably accurate tee-shots by both players see them reach the green. Montgomerie sends his birdie putt to the right of the hole. It is the same story for Woods and pars are the order of the day.
Justin Rose moves to within one shot of the leaders with a birdie at the 17th.

Hole 15: Both players show their class reaching the green in two shots to give them birdie opportunities. Woods sends it to the right of the hole and pars giving Montgomerie a chance to pull level.
Montgomerie takes his opportunity with a superb putt to draw level - a good reward for his tee shot.
Justin Rose goes to 18 under with a birdie at the 16th.

Hole 14: Woods hits a mighty tee shot but he finds the rough on the face of the bunker and all he can do is send his second shot onto the green. Montgomerie finds his way out of heavy rough but reaches the back end of the green.
Both players send long birdie putts short of the hole and both are able to tap in for par.

Hole 13: Both players reach the green safely but Montgomerie's second shot bobbles and is well short of the pin. Woods' uphill putt is too fast and it goes past the hole.
Montgomerie's par putt stops agonisingly short of the hole and fails to drop and Woods capitalises to go into the lead for the first time in the round.

Hole 12: Woods finds himself just off the green at the 12th while Montgomerie's effort is on the green. Woods chips onto the green but the ball drifts three or four feet by the hole.
Montgomerie takes advantage of his good approach shot and he bravely makes his birdie. Woods follows suit to keep up the pressure.
Meanwhile, Greg Owen gets back on track with a birdie at the 13th to go to 17 under alongside Justin Rose.

Hole 11: Both players find themselves with birdie chances. Woods has the easier of the putts but his effort goes to the right and it is another par for him.
Montgomerie's putt also goes to the right and he must also be content with another par.
Montgomerie 19 under, Woods 19 under
Hole 10: Disaster strikes for Montgomerie at the 10th as he finds the rough with his tee shot and then finds himself in trouble with his approach as he tries to recover. It is all plain sailing for Woods who finds the green in two.
Montgomerie chips superbly onto the green but Woods claims his first birdie of the day to draw level and increase the pressure.
Montgomerie has a straight uphill putt to save par and he makes no mistake to let Woods know that he will not give up easily.
Justin Rose moves to 16 under with a birdie at the 10th.

After starting the final round one shot clear of Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie claims birdies at the first three holes while Woods responds with an eagle at the third.
But Monty partly undoes his good work with a bogey at the fourth and he leads by one shot.
Both players par five holes in a row from the fifth. Woods has a number of birdie chances but his putting lets him down.
Montgomerie manages to save his par on a couple of occasions but he knows the pressure is on him and Woods will seize on any mistake.
