| Wednesday, 8 January, 2003, 12:36 GMT Megson misses out on Sakiri ![]() Sakiri embarassed David Seaman with a goal from a corner West Brom's hopes of signing Macedonia international Artem Sakiri have faded after talks with his club CSKA Sofia collapsed. The 29-year-old, who scored direct from a corner in Macedonia's 2-2 draw against England in October, impressed Baggies boss Gary Megson on trial at the Hawthorns last month. But CSKA financial director Lazar Vasilev said West Brom were not prepared to pay the club's asking price. He told Bulgarian radio station Darik: "The reason for the failure of the negotiations was last-minute demands by WBA for a much lower price for Sakiri, as well as suggestions only for a six-month loan for the player, as opposed to buying him." |
