Gary Megson's side have accepted a performance-related scheme offered by the Albion board to bring the long-running dispute to an end.

That scheme will now also apply to Scotland striker Scott Dobie, who has signed a new four-year deal with the club ending speculation over his future.

Directors had refused to back down after the players threatened a possible strike when a �15,000-a-win deal in the Premiership was ditched by the new board.

The dispute threatened to overshadow Albion's return to the top flight, where they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in their opening fixture.

Managing director Brendan Batson revealed the dispute was now setttled, and urged the players to concentrate their energies on their on-field endeavours.

"The bonus dispute has been settled," he told the club's official website. "The players have accepted the schedule that was introduced by the new board for the coming season.

"We're delighted the matter is now behind us and that everyone concerned can channel their energy into the current season.

"Performance-related bonuses will be paid throughout the course of the season and, if the club's Premiership status is retained, the players will be extremely well rewarded for their efforts.

"In football's current financial climate, we believe this is the way incentive schemes should be structured.

"Even a club of the size and stature of Arsenal, with all their wealth, have switched to a back-end loaded bonus scheme based on success."
