Donachie resigned as Owls' manager Terry Yorath's assistant on Monday. He will link up with Joe Royle, who was appointed as the new boss of Ipswich following the recent sacking of George Burley.
Yorath will have goalkeeping coach Martin Hodge at his side for Wednesday's home game with Millwall, although he has been given the all-clear by the Owls board to bring in a new right-hand man. "I've got to try to get someone else in," said Yorath. "I have someone in mind. I have to discuss it with other people and with the person involved." Yorath was "disappointed" by Donachie's decision to leave the Owls but was also quick to offer praise as he added: "He's worked very hard with the players. "He's a good coach, although results would have sometimes said otherwise." |
