| Tuesday, 11 February, 2003, 15:00 GMT Geary injury blow Sheffield Wednesday's Derek Geary faces at least a month on the sidelines with a knee injury. The 22-year-old defender, Wednesday's Player of the Year last season, will have an exploratory operation amid fears he has suffered cartilage damage. The injury is an untimely blow for the struggling Owls as they battle against relegation. Wednesday do have cover in the two full-back positions, with Brian Barry-Murphy, Ashley Westwood, Ryan Green and Steven Haslam available. Meanwhile, Phil O'Donnell is also set to be out until next month. The former Celtic midfielder is nursing a thigh strain. |
