Diamonds seek new LuaLua
Newcastle striker Lomana LuaLua takes on Thomas Repka of West Ham at St James' Park
LuaLua scored twice against West Ham on Monday
The man who discovered Newcastle's in-form striker Lomana LuaLua is hoping to unearth another diamond at Rushden.

Geoff Harrop, Diamonds' director of youth football, was the man who discovered LuaLua as a 16-year-old playing college football in Colchester.

The striker moved to Newcastle in a 2.25m deal two seasons ago and Cook himself moved on to take up his new position at Nene Park.

And Harrop told BBC Sport Online that he spends every day hoping to discover a new untapped talent.

"I'm looking for another Lomana and I'll always believe that I can find one," Harrop said.

"Brian Talbot and the directors have decided to start a youth policy at Rushden so we start a centre of excellence this year.

"We already have some very good young players here in Daniel Talbot, Gary Mills and John Dempster, who are currently in the first team.

"But every time you go and watch a kids' game you are looking for that little gem and trying to fight off the teams around you who are trying to do the same thing."
