Batterby earns short deal
Rushden and Diamonds striker Tony Battersby has earned a short-term contract with the Third Division promotion-chasers.

Battersby recently moved to Nene Park on a non-contract basis following his release from Boston United.

His performance in two first-team appearances impressed Diamonds' boss Brian Talbot.

The 27-year-old former Sheffield United, Bury and Lincoln City forward has now been given a month's deal.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old defender Brett Solkhon has been released after making just one first-team start this season.
