| Monday, 2 December, 2002, 16:29 GMT Cobblers settle legal dispute ![]() Ian Atkins was suing the club A legal dispute between Northampton Town Football Club and its former manager has been settled out of court. Ian Atkins, who is now in charge at Oxford United, had been suing the club after it stopped paying his compensation package. The Cobblers claimed he had breached a confidentiality agreement after his departure in 1999. The out-of-court settlement was reached after two hours of talks at Birmingham County Court. 'New chapter' The club has not given any further details. Speaking outside the court, Northampton director Tony Clarke said: "We're pleased to get our settlement. "We're pleased to put that chapter behind us and move forward. "There's a lot of positive things happening at Northampton Town and we don't want to keep looking backwards." |
