Lincoln have moved to fill the vacant managerial vacancy at Sincil Bank by confirming Keith Alexander as their new boss.

The cash-strapped Imps, who are currently in administration, parted company with Alan Buckley at the end of April for financial reasons - leaving assistant Alexander in caretaker charge.

But now the board of directors have made that appointment permanent.

A statement released by the club said: "Lincoln City are pleased to confirm the appointment of Keith Alexander as team manager and director of coaching.

"The board of directors have been impressed with Keith's commitment and expertise as assistant manager.

"And the club are confident that despite difficult financial constraints Keith can bring success to the club on the pitch."
