| Tuesday, 18 February, 2003, 13:53 GMT Imps hunt for a striker Lincoln City boss Keith Alexander is on the look-out for a new striker after allowing on-loan forward Luke Cornwall to return to Fulham. Cornwall started just one game and failed to score during a month at Sincil Bank. With Dene Cropper facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, Alexander is seeking extra firepower to keep the Red Imps' play-off hopes intact.
Alexander said: "We're still waiting for an exact diagnosis on Cropper, and I'll be looking to bring someone in. "There'll be a couple of trialists playing for the reserves on Wednesday, and I'll take a look at them. Alexander felt Cornwall hadn't adapted to the physical demands of Division Three. But he hasn't ruled out an interest in the 22-year-old in the future. "The lad is a good player, there's no disputing that. "I've told him that if he gets released by Fulham then I'd be more than happy to have another look at him in pre-season," Alexander told his club's website |
