Leigh RMI have agreed a deal to sign Scarborough striker Neil Campbell on loan for the rest of the season.

Campbell was set to play for Scarborough's reserves on Wednesday.

Provided he comes through that game unscathed, he will link up with former Seasiders' number two Mark Patterson, now in charge at Conference rivals Leigh.

"He's got experience and is a proven goalscorer at this level. He will also give us a bit more presence up front," said Patterson.

Campbell is in his second spell at Scarborough, having returned to the McCain Stadium from Doncaster Rovers last summer.

The 26-year-old also has previous Nationwide League experience with York City and Southend United.
