Leigh RMI are the latest Conference club to target Sheffield United's Ryan Mallon.

The 19-year-old forward has already turned out for Halifax Town and Scarborough this season.

Now Leigh boss Mark Patterson is hoping to secure his services.

"I have enquired about him and I would like to try and get him, but there are others looking at him," said Patterson.

Patterson is also still keen on Chester's Lee Woodyatt, despite a loan move for the midfielder falling through.

But he believes he may have to go into Saturday's relegation clash with Margate with his current squad.

"It looks like it may be the same again, but I'm pleased with the lads and what they've done," Patterson added.

"Looking at Margate's home record, it isn't the best, and we will be going there hoping to capitalise."
