The Foxes sacked Wise following a pre-season tour incident in which team-mate Callum Davidson suffered a fractured cheekbone.
A Football League ruling that Leicester could not terminate Wise's contract prompted an appeal by the Foxes. A hearing is scheduled for 10 days but Adams said: "I think it will go to court." Leicester have declared their willingness to take the matter to the High Court if their appeal to the Football League fails. Adams said: "The door has closed for Dennis Wise at Leicester." He said Wise's sacking was "the decision of the board of directors and I back that". The Foxes boss insists he warned his players that any bad behaviour on the tour in Finland would result in them being sent home. Adams admitted Leicester were looking to trim their wage bill following their relegation from the Premiership, but denied that was the main motivation behind Wise's dismissal. The Leicester boss said: "Dennis's financial situation was a burden on the club, but you don't assault your own team-mate." |
