Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink overcomes Arne Friedrich to score for Holland
Hasselbaink got on the scoresheet for Holland

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Ruud van Nistelrooy came off the bench to strike as Holland beat Germany 3-1 in Gelsenkirchen.

Holland coach Dick Advocaat was grateful to the Premiership pair as they settled a match that was evenly balanced.

Chelsea's Hasselbaink scored in the 69th and Manchester United's Van Nistelrooy added Holland's third ten minutes later.

Patrick Kluivert had given Holland a first-half lead, but Fredi Bobic celebrated his recall after more than four years away from the international scene with an equaliser before the interval.

Hasselbaink had been on the field just four minutes when he finished off a swift move, then Van Nistelrooy completed the win with a simple finish from Clarence Seedorf's pass.

Ronaldo struck twice for Brazil as they beat 2002 World Cup co-hosts South Korea 3-2 in Seoul.

South Korea led twice in the match through goals from striker Seol Ki-hyeon and Ahn Jung-hwan but Ronaldo equalised on both occasions.

The winner came in the 90th minute when Ronaldo was brought down and Ronaldinho converted the resultant penalty.

Substitute Oleksandr Melashchenko scored a late equalizer as Ukraine drew 1-1 with Slovakia.

Slovakia's Miroslav Karhan had given the hosts the lead in the 61st minute from a penalty.

Eli Biton struck four minutes into injury time to give Israel a 3-2 win against Macedonia.

Macedonia came from two behind as Michael Zandberg and Avi Nimni scored for Israel.

Aleksandar Vasovski put Macedonia back in the game and Goce Sedloski tequalised injury time, only for Biton to strike.

Sunderland striker Tore Andre Flo had a hand in the only goal in Vienna as Norway beat Austria 1-0, with Gambian-born substitute Pa-Modou Kah scoring the winner.

Elsewhere, Tomislav Maric scored the only goal of the match as Croatia won 1-0 in Romania, while Nigeria and Jamaica, and Tunisia and Egypt shared goalless draws.

The match of the night took place in Prague as Mikael Nilsson of Sweden scored twice on his debut in a 3-3 draw with the Czech Republic.

Liverpool striker Milan Baros was among the goals with a flying header for the home side, but Aston Villa's Marcus Allback secured a draw for Sweden in the 63rd minute.
