Shrewsbury 0-0 Bournem'th

High-flying Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run to seven games as Shrewsbury shared in their first goalless draw for 63 matches.

But an entertaining game should have produced a stack of goals, with both sides spurning some excellent goalscoring opportunities.

The Cherries could have been two up inside 10 minutes, but Marcus Browning somehow missed a gilt-edged chance from just four yards.

Wade Elliott then fired a superb 20-yard effort against an upright.

Shrewsbury forward Luke Rodgers also managed to hit the woodwork twice before the break.

And another effort by the lively Elliott met the same fate midway through the second half to force both sides to settle for a point.

Shrewsbury: Dunbavin, Moss, Smith, Redmile, Artell, Jamie Tolley, Atkins, Jagielka, Van Blerk, Lowe, Rodgers. Subs: Wilding, Kendall, Murray, Ian Stevens, Woan.

Bournemouth: Moss, Young, John Purches, Broadhurst, Thomas, Elliott, Browning, O'Connor, Carl Fletcher, Hayter, Steve Fletcher. Subs: Tardif, Feeney, Holmes, Narada, Tindall.

Referee: S Baines (Derbyshire)
