| Saturday, 14 December, 2002, 18:58 GMT Leyton Orient 2-0 Torquay Leyton Orient halted a run of two home defeats with a backs-to-the-wall win against dominant Torquay. They went ahead inside three minutes when Scott Canham met a clearance with a volley from 20 yards which found the top corner of the Torquay net. And the hosts doubled their advantage when the Gulls failed to deal with Justin Miller's long throw and the ball ran loose for Chris Tate to slot home. Orient also had two goals disallowed, but Scott Barrett was by far the busier keeper throughout, making one crucial save from Martin Gritton after the Torquay man had burst through. But the hosts held on for a much-needed victory. Leyton Orient: Barrett, Joseph, Smith, Miller, Barnard, Canham, Brazier, Harris, Lockwood, Tate, Ibehre.
