| Saturday, 6 April, 2002, 17:19 GMT 18:19 UK Oxford Utd 1-1 Leyton Orient E-mail your reaction to Football Talk Andy Scott rescued Oxford United from a fourth consecutive defeat with an equaliser six minutes from time to earn a draw against Leyton Orient at the Kassam Stadium. The Londoners were the more dangerous of two poor sides but they had to wait until the 58th minute for their first goal in four matches. Oxford goalkeeper Andy Woodman could only palm away an inswinging corner by Matthew Lockwood to David McGhee whose half-hit shot went over Woodman and under the bar. Two minutes earlier McGhee had been booked for a foul on Jamie Brooks. The striker was the only player to threaten in a disorganised United side and had a hand in the equaliser. He crossed low to Scott who came on for Paul Tait after 65 minutes and the substitute hammered the ball into the roof of the net from close in. Oxford Utd: Woodman, Waterman, Crosby, Bound, Powell, Savage, Tait, Whitehead, Hackett, Brooks, Moody. Subs: Scott, King, Patterson, Morley, Stockley. Leyton Orient: Barrett, Harris, Smith, McGhee, Lockwood, Newton, Minton, Canham, Martin, Ibehre, Fletcher. Subs: Joseph, Christie, McLean, Partridge, Morris. Referee: L Cable (Woking) |
