Woking could not give Glenn Cockerill victory in his first match in charge as they fought out a goalless draw at Kingfield.

But it was not for want of trying in a match in which they looked lively and belied their position in the Conference's relegation zone.

Cockerill introduced new signing Raphael Nade to spice up the attack and the 22-year-old French striker, who has joined from Welling United, was in the thick of the action.

He could have made a glorious start to his Kingfield career after only four minutes, but struck his shot over the bar from close in.

Woking piled forward and Warren Patmore fired in a left-foot volley that hit the woodwork with Barnet wobbling.

But the visitors weathered the storm and home goalkeeper Shwan Jalal was called into action to save two Ben Strevens efforts and a header from Mark Gower.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Woking pressing early on, and Naisbitt did well to tip Patmore's header over the top.

Then Barnet took over and Gower's right-foot volley struck the woodwork before Jalal made a great save to tip over a shot from Strevens.
