Nuneaton 1-1 Scarborough

Nuneaton ended a run of three defeats with a hard-earned draw against Scarborough.

The home defence had leaked 10 goals in those three games but it was their attack that came under the spotlight in the opening exchanges.

It came up trumps in just the sixth minute when a long pass from his own half by Andrew Ducros found Mark McGregor and the striker made no mistake from the centre of the penalty area.

Scarborough, whose recent good form has seen them climb the table, were stung into action and they were level within four minutes.

Richard Dryden headed across the Nuneaton area and Keith Scott hammered home a low shot from close range.

Nuneaton squandered a good chance to go back in front when McGregor met a Ducros corner but headed wide from close range.

Scarborough came close to taking the lead at the start of the second half but Nuneaton keeper Chris MacKenzie cut out a a dangerous free kick by Jason Blunt.

The home side had a good chance themselves but a powerful header by Jamie Squires from a Michael Love cross was well saved by Leigh Walker in the Scarborough goal.

Scarborough: Walker, Hotte, Dryden, Holdsworth, Ormerod, Henry, Stoker, Brassart, Campbell, Scott, Raw. Subs: Downey, Blunt, Fatokun, Sillah, Pounder.
