Champions League winners Zamalek made it another historic night in Cairo as they took the Caf Super Cup with a 3-1 win over Cup Winners Cup holders Wydad Casablanca.

The result means they become the first team in history to take the Super Cup three times, and therefore keep the trophy.

But they made hard work of it early on, and Wydad's El Ahli Redoyane had missed three clear chances by the time Zamalek, completely against the run of play, got their first.

Wydad keeper Jarma Tarek was left stunned on 28 minutes as Mohammed Abdel Wahed lashed in an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area.

From there the Egyptians never looked back.

Shortly after half time Jamal Hamza finished off some sublime play by Hazem Emam to double the lead.

Three minutes later, it was all over, as a terrible mix-up between Tarek and his defence allowed Abdel Halim Ali to steal in and coolly wrap things up.

Wydad's Ivory Coast substitute Gah Zadi got a consolation goal for the Moroccans ten minutes before the end, but it was all over long before then.
