SA 2010 plan Reggae party
Jamaican fans will help get South Africa's bid off to a bright start
Jamaican fans bring great colour to any occasion
South Africa are planning a World Cup bid launch party against the colourful Reggae Boyz of Jamaica in March next year.

Although the final details of the friendly match still have to be finalised, the South African Football Association has confirmed it is in talks with their Jamaican counterparts.

The game is being scheduled for 28-30 March, which is an official African Nations Cup qualifying weekend.

South Africa do not have a match as their two Nations Cup qualifying group opponents Burundi and Cote d'Ivoire play against each in Bujumbura.

World Cup bid officials are hoping to use the weekend to play a high profile match and make a big splash with their plans for 2010.

Return match

The game would be a chance to invite international guests to get a first hand view of South Africa's set up for 2010.

Safa officials said the Jamaicans have been keen to play in South Africa ever since the two countries drew 1-1 in a friendly in Kingston in 1999.

Jamaica play in Africa later this month, with a friendly against Nigeria's Super Eagles in Lagos on 20 November.

They were last on the continent in 1995 for two matches in Zambia, where a local journalist nicknamed them the "Reggae Boyz'.
