The 25-year-old added 68 for the second wicket with captain Sourav Ganguly, who made 41, and 57 for the third with Sachin Tendulkar, who was unbeaten on 34.

Earlier West Indies captain Carl Hooper hit an unbeaten 76 but India bowled out West Indies for 186 after putting the home side in to bat in the third one-day international on Wednesday.

The game was reduced to 49 overs after a rain interruption.

Paceman Tinu Yohannan struck two quick blows to remove Wavell Hinds and Chris Gayle as West Indies slumped to 45 for two.

Brian Lara went cheaply, hitting off-spinner Harbhajan Singh to mid-wicket.

Skipper Hooper and Sarwan rebuilt the innings with 87-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

But wickets started to tumble once Sarwan was bowled for 44 by occasional off-spinner Virender Sehwag.

Ajit Agarkar mopped up the tail as seven wickets fell for 46 runs.

The home side won the five-Test series 2-1.
