Considering she prefers indoor and clay courts, it seems ironic that Denisa Chladkova's best Grand Slam performance was at Wimbledon.
It was six years ago the Czech right-hander won her first Grand Slam matches to reach the quarter-finals at SW19 before losing to eventual champion Martina Hingis.
On the ITF circuit, she went on to notch up seven singles titles but has yet to reproduce this success on the WTA tour.
And, until this year, she failed to make it past the first round in 12 out of 20 Grand Slam events.
But the 24-year-old has enjoyed improved fortunes in 2003, reaching the semi-finals in Warsaw and recording her best Grand Slam performance in five-and-a-half years at the Australian Open after making it to the fourth round.
The baseliner has since shot up to a career-high world ranking of 32.
