Although she has yet to win a title this year, Patty Schnyder is still enjoying a surprising renaissance.

The Swiss player appeared destined never to fulfil her enormous potential when she slid down the rankings from a high of eighth after linking up with controversial faith healer Rainer Harnecker in 1999.

But the 24-year-old is back on track and she enjoyed a successful 2002, which culminated in an emotional title win in Zurich over Lindsay Davenport.

She has not had the best of times in 2003, losing early in Paris, Indian Wells, Sarasota and Charleston.

But she has put in a worthy display at the Grand Slam events, reaching the fourth round at both the Australian and French Open.

Her record at Wimbledon is poor and remains the only major tennis tournament where she has never got past the third round.
