Once ranked as high as 13th in the world standings, Hrbaty has not been seeded for a Grand Slam since 2001. But thanks to two tournament wins, in Adelaide and Auckland, at the beginning of 2004, he has returned to the elite.
He made it a hat-trick of titles in February when he lifted the Marseille indoor trophy and is still inside the top 10 of the ATP's Champions Race.
Along with Roger Federer and Carlos Moya, he is one of only three players to have won three titles this season.
Despite that, Hrbaty is hardly a legend of grass-court tennis.
He last managed to win a match at Wimbledon in 2000 and has been knocked out in the first round at every attempt since.
