Youzhny is one of the up-and-coming stars of the men's game and has enjoyed his time at Wimbledon in the past. He has played in the senior event there three times and was unlucky to go out in the fourth round in 2001 and 2002.
Last year, though, he slipped up in the second round and has done little this year to suggest he will cause a stir this time.
His only display of note was a semi-final berth in Dubai and he has a win-loss record this year of 15-14.
On his Wimbledon debut in 2001 he came up against eventual runner-up Patrick Rafter in the last 16 and fell at the same hurdle to 2002 champion Lleyton Hewitt a year later.
His finest victory dates back to 2002 when he coaxed Russia to Davis Cup glory with a stunning singles performance.
He was two sets down to France's Paul-Henri Mathieu when he hit back to take an unlikely victory.
A baseliner with a superb two-handed backhand return, a little more weight on the serve could see Youzhny could yet start to close on top-ranked Russian Marat Safin in the coming seasons.
