Watson says she aims to reach the world's top 11 in 2011

Guernsey's Heather Watson suffered a disappointing exit at the Dow Corning Classic in Michigan, losing 5-7 6-3 7-6 to Stephanie Foretz Gacon.

The 18-year-old British number three, ranked 142nd, won the first set but her French opponent rallied in the second.

World number 162 Foretz Gacon, 29, then edged the decider on a tie-break to book her place in round two.

Britain's Katie O'Brien was beaten 7-5 6-2 by Irina Falconi, while Anne Keothavong plays Brittany Augustine.
