Watson won the second senior title of her career in July |
Britain's Heather Watson beat second seed Sabine Lisicki to reach the third round of the Aegon GB Pro-Series in Shrewsbury on Wednesday. The 18-year-old from Guernsey beat Germany's world number 90 in straight sets, 7-6 6-2. Watson, at a career high of 211, now faces world number 188 and eighth seed Eva Birnerova of the Czech Republic in the third round. Teenager Watson beat Turkey's Cagla Buyukackay 6-2 6-7 6-2 in round one. "I played very well, but I am still getting back into playing matches after a bit of a break," said Watson. "This result gives me huge confidence, to know that I can go out and beat a top player. Now I've just got to go out and use that feeling and take it into the next match."
