Guernsey's Heather Watson has won through to the last round of qualifying at the Bell Challenge in Quebec after defeating the third seed on Sunday. The number 215 in the world beat her training partner Madison Brengle 6-1 6-3 in the second round of qualifying. The American is world ranked 169. Watson said: "I played very well. Maddy and I train together so I was playing my friend, which is never easy." She faces seventh seed Stephanie Foretz Gacon for a place in the main draw. Watson beat Amra Sadikovic, from Switzerland by the same score line in the first round of qualifying.
