Fittingly, Henman finished his career at Wimbledon, where Great Britain took on Croatia for a place in the Davis Cup World Group.

Henman kissed the hallowed turf after his final professional singles match, a straight-sets victory over Roko Karanusic.

He returned a day later with Jamie Murray and hit the winning shot in a doubles win over Marin Cilic and Lovro Zovko that gave GB an unassailable 3-0 lead.

And, with daughter Rosie in his arms he bade farewell to Court One.
