Henman's best shot at reaching the Wimbledon final came in 2001 when he faced Goran Ivanisevic - a wildcard world-ranked 125 and enjoying a dream run which no one, least of all him, had predicted.
Ivansevic started the better, taking the first set, but after clinching a tight second, Henman roared through the third set in just 14 minutes, taking it 6-0. Ivanisevic looked disconsolate.
And then it rained. The players returned on Sunday by which time Ivanisevic had rediscovered his poise - and his devastating serve. The Croat went on to beat Pat Rafter in a classic Monday final. Would Henman have beaten Rafter? That we'll never know.
