By Wimbledon 2002, the media pressure surrounding Henman had reached fever-pitch. After Sampras and Agassi exited the tournament, the Daily Mirror posted this message on its front page: "No pressure Timbo, but choke now and we'll never forgive you."
Henman later admitted: "There must have been half-a-dozen players that brought this paper in and they were just looking at it in absolute amazement, saying: 'What the f*** is this?' All I could do was laugh."
He wasn't laughing a few days later when he was crushed in straight sets by Lleyton Hewitt in his fourth and last SW19 semi-final, prompting the inevitable headlines.
