Federer streak continues
Roger Federer was playing his third match in little over a day
Roger Federer advanced to the semi-finals of the Toronto Masters, beating France's Fabrice Santoro 7-5 6-4.

The win was the Swiss top seed's 21st straight victory since he was beaten in the third round of the French Open.

Federer now meets Thomas Johansson who beat fellow Swede Joachim Johansson 6-3 7-6 (7-5) to reach the final four.

Second seed Andy Roddick easily beat qualifier Jan Hernych 6-4 6-2 while Jurgen Melzer plays fellow non-seed Nicolas Kiefer.

Federer can better Pete Sampras' 1996 run of 21 matches without defeat when he faces Johansson on Saturday.

"More and more people are talking about it," said Federer, who has won his last three three events at Halle, Wimbledon and Gstaad.

"Sometimes, I start to wonder also, but I'm not here to keep a streak going.

"I just need to concentrate each and every match and try to win the tournament. I'm not here to break records, I'm here to play well."
