No Worcester offer for James Hook - Mike Ruddock

Wales fly-half James Hook
Hook is contracted to Ospreys until 2011

Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock has said that the Warriors have given up on signing Ospreys fly-half James Hook for now.

Reports had suggested that the Warriors had made a big-money offer for the 24-year-old Wales international.

But Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "I met with James' agent a couple of months ago but I was told he was under contract until 2011.

"Until he is out of contract there's not a chance of him coming here."

Ruddock added: "It's unlikely that a current international would want to leave Wales, as the Welsh RFU has said if players go off and play in England they might not get in the Wales team.

"So it's a big decision for a player to consider if they are a current international and that is the story as far as I know it."
