Worcester Warriors wing Rico Gear is suffering from a lack of confidence, says director of rugby Mike Ruddock. "Everyone's different," said Ruddock. "That's the thing about rugby teams. You have guys who are ultra confident, and those lacking in confidence. "But Rico is a class act. He's a great player," Ruddock told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "And he didn't hide on Sunday, after a couple of mistakes. He went looking for the ball, and got involved." The All Blacks winger has appeared in both European Challenge Cup ties, scoring two tries in the game in Bucharest, as well as Sunday's EDF Cup defeat at home to Harlequins. But Ruddock says he and his coaching team need to build up the confidence of the Kiwi who has been capped 20 times by his country. "The role of the coach is to to deal with those different people, and get the best out of them. "He just needs a run of games. He's picked up some injuries that have knocked him back, both physically and mentally. "But, if you get three or four games under your belt you'll hit your best form." Warriors' next game sees them return to Guinness Premiership action at Sale on Friday 14 November (2000 GMT). There will be full commentary on the game on BBC Hereford and Worcester.
