Dragons' three-quarter Sweeney played under Ruddock for Wales |
Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock says he will not be naming any players he might want to bring to Sixways or their positions. Warriors have been linked with Welsh stars Ceri Sweeney and Mike Phillips but Ruddock would not be drawn.
"There are positions we are focusing on, but I wouldn't want to make that known at the moment and upset any of my current players."
Ruddock says he will also be talking to prop Darren Morris about his future.
Morris was man of the match in the win against Bristol, Warriors' first league win of the season, and Ruddock says he was outstanding.
"I'm usually asked for my man of the match about five minutes from the end, but I told our team manager with 20 minutes to go it would be Darren.
Morris was highly impressive in the recent victory over Bristol |
"He is very big and powerful, but for such a big man his handling was magnificent, just about the only thing he didn't do was a chip and chase."
Morris is now 33 and his contract ends in May but he says he still has hopes of making a comeback for Wales.
With the current bias towards home-based players, it seems unlikely that Welsh coach Warren Gatland will pick Morris, who last played for his country in 2004, and toured with the Lions in 2001.
