Sweeney had been linked with a move to an English club |
Wales internationals Ceri Sweeney and Colin Charvis have signed one-year deal extensions with Newport Gwent Dragons. Versatile three-quarter Sweeney, 27, had been linked with a move away from the region he joined three years ago.
But he said: "I am settled and have really enjoyed my rugby this season. I am confident we can be successful as a region on and off field."
Charvis, 34, joined the Dragons last summer and his fine form has won him recall to the Wales squad this season.
He just missed out on a place on the bench for Wales' Six Nations visit to France on Saturday.
"As a squad, we have a lot to offer, and I feel I can contribute for another season," said Charvis, capped 84 times.
"We are looking to reach a level of success, and if I can play a small part in that, then I am delighted to pledge my future with the region."
The Dragons are still waiting to hear if Ian Gough, linked with a move to Llanelli Scarlets, has accepted a contract extension.
Kevin Morgan, Luke Charteris, Jamie Ringer, Adam Black, Rhys Thomas, Andrew Hall, Ashley Smith and Jamie Corsi have already pledged their future to the region.
