Leicester Tigers sign Cornish Pirates lock Ben Gulliver

Gulliver's loan at Welford Road is scheduled to end on 30 November

Leicester Tigers have signed lock Ben Gulliver from Championship side Cornish Pirates on a three-month loan.

The 29-year-old former Coventry and Plymouth Albion forward moved to the Pirates in 2008.

Gulliver made 19 starts for the Pirates last season, and was a key member of their British & Irish Cup winning side.

Pirates chief executive Rod Coward said: "There is no doubt that Ben will benefit from the experience, which is a huge opportunity for him."

He added: "Also, at the same time there are both short and long-term benefits for the club in such an arrangement, and we are pleased with the loan agreement."
