Key delighted with Leeds progress

Leeds Carnegie's director of rugby Andy Key believes the club's summer signings highlight the progress the club has made both on and off the field.

Andy Gomarsall is Leeds' seventh summer signing, joining the likes of Marco Wentzel, Gareth Hardy and Cieron Thomas ahead of their Premiership return.

"The players who have come here see the infrastructure and how we can improve their game," Key told BBC Radio Leeds.

"These signings show how the club has grown in profile on and off the pitch."

He added: "In trying to attract players to come and play for you, you have to show them there is a massive infrastructure not just in facilities, but in the coaching structure too, so they can see they can achieve their maximum potential here.

"I think we are almost there with our signings now, I think in terms of positions and type of players we have achieved what we set out to do.

"But we continue to look out for players and we don't just stop, it's about looking throughout the season to see what we need in order to keep this club moving forward.

"We are very satisfied at the moment with what we have, but we will still look around as time goes on at position we feel we need to improve to ensure the development of Leeds continues."

BBC Radio Leeds will have full match commentary of every Leeds Guinness Premiership game and Anglo-Welsh Cup matches, plus home European games.
