Morgan played 18 Premiership games last season |
Gloucester's medical team have revealed Olly Morgan should be fit for the start of the season after shoulder surgery. Morgan is not taking part in any summer tours, so the full-back has undergone the operation to correct the problem. "We've taken the opportunity to perform a relatively minor procedure on his left shoulder," Gloucester physio Bob Stewart told the club website. "Morgan will gradually progress back into full training with a view to being fully fit for the pre-season games." Scrum-half Dave Lewis has also gone under the surgeon's knife, having an operation on his back which gave him trouble towards the end of last season. The operation should rectify a disc lesion in his lower back that did not respond to treatment, leaving surgery as the last resort. Stewart says Lewis should also be fully fit for August: "He too has made an excellent recovery in the early stages and will again progress through the various stages of rehabilitation with a view to being fit at the same time as Olly."
