Bryan Redpath wants Gloucester to progress in Europe
Redpath is preparing for his second season in charge of Gloucester
Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath wants European progress after missing out on a place in the Heineken Cup for the first time in five years.
The Cherry and Whites have been drawn in pool five of the Amlin Challenge Cup with Agen, La Rochelle and Rovigo.
"Playing in Agen and La Rochelle are going to be tough challenges for us," Redpath told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"We've learned some good experiences over the last three or four seasons and I think we've got to push on now."
On paper the matches against the two French sides in the group look the toughest for Gloucester.
But Redpath is refusing to under-estimate facing Italian minnows Rovigo: "I played at Rovigo, it will be hostile but it certainly won't be under the same intensity as what maybe an Agen or a La Rochelle will be.
"There's no room for any arrogance or complacency at the moment and I think we have to show some respect to any opposition we play."
"If they're there we still have to beat them, we have to be very hard nosed about that."
