Lengthy ban for Baugh
Dan Baugh
Cardiff Blues had protested Baugh's innocence
Cardiff Blues' Dan Baugh has been given an eight-week ban for stamping and kicking an opponent during his team's match against Leinster Lions.

The Canadian international flanker was cited by the Irish province after the Heineken Cup match on 12 December.

A three-man disciplinary panel decided on Monday to uphold the complaint.

"The panel found the action of (Baugh) was at least careless with no regard for the consequences of his action," said panel spokesman Douglas Hunter.

Baugh must also pay the costs of the hearing, but he has the right to appeal within 72 hours of receiving written confirmation of the ban.

Perpignan's Christophe Porcu was banned for five weeks after being found guilty of two incidents of foul play during the Pool 6 win over Celtic Warriors.
