Wasps captain Lawrence Dallaglio paid tribute to his side, following the 27-20 Heineken Cup win over Toulouse. Scrum-half Rob Howley snatched a last-gasp try to grab the win and Dallaglio said: "Rob deserves everything he gets.
"The video referee has been kind to us again but Rob has been head and shoulders above all the other scrum-halves this season.
"Toulouse were worthy opponents. We knew from the start we were in a serious game of rugby."
Dallaglio added: "It's a moment for the club and fans. We don't have the resources of other clubs but we have huge traditions, great values, and a great work ethic.
"I'm very proud to follow in the footsteps of Bath, Leicester and Northampton and become the fourth English side to win the Heineken Cup.
"Our line-out struggled but we have huge character and huge determination in this team."
Howley, who beat Toulouse full-back Cl�ment Poitrenaud in the final minute to touch over for the match-winning try, said: "It's just a privilege to play with these guys.
"We were up against a good side. It went down to the 79th minute but rugby's about 80 minutes. "I just wanted to get it into their territory and get in position for a drop-goal.
"There was a bit of luck in the end with the bounce. To achieve what we have done and to score a try, that is priceless."
Wasps will return to Twickenham next Saturday to attempt to add the Zurich Premiership crown to their European title.
Howley added: "It's just amazing. A horrible way for Toulouse to go out - they are one of the best sides we have ever played against. What a game."
Flanker Joe Worsley added: "What a year - the championship last year, the World Cup and now this.
"It's unbelievable. I want to go in the car park and have a few drinks but we've got a game in six days."
