| Saturday, 11 January, 2003, 17:00 GMT Gloucester run riot in Italy
Gloucester ran in 10 tries to sink Italian minnows Viadana in the Heineken Cup. Junior Paramore scored a brace as did Robert Todd, while Gloucester's fit-again England wing James Simpson Daniel also got on the scoresheet. But Gloucester made hard work of the mismatch and only led 19-6 at half time.
Captain Phil Vickery came off the bench after the break to inject some passion and his introduction had an immediate effect. He declined a kickable penalty and ordered a kick to the corner, which Paramore collected to crash over. Viadana showed tremendous spirit and hit back with a 10-point burst from South African full-back Casper Steyn, who scored all his side's points. But that was the home team's last throw of the dice and Gloucester ran in six more tries in the final 25 minutes.
