Walsham are looking to improve on last season's 11th placed finish |
North Walsham and Diss started their new season campaign with disappointing defeats at home. Despite bringing in 15 new players, The Vikings lost 13-17 to Gravesend at Scottow while Diss narrowly missed out 27-33 to Bishop's Stortford. North Walsham were 10-3 up at half-time thanks to a try from Adam Couzens and a further five points from Mark McCall. However, The Vikings failed to make the most of a two-man advantage when two Gravesend forwards were yellow-carded. Diss, who have already set themselves the target of a top-5 finish, could only peg back the visitors early runaway lead to a more respectable score.
