Greenhall took full control of the team this summer
North Walsham head coach Nick Greenhall is cautious yet confident ahead of the new season in National League Three.
Disappointing league form at the end of last season meant the Vikings could only finish 11th with 40 points.
Greenhall, who took full control of the team this summer, told BBC Radio Norfolk: "This season is about growth.
"We are looking to have more fun, getting players and mangers to enjoy themselves more, to take the pressure off a little."
North Walsham last won a league game back in January, with injury problems proving difficult to overcome towards the end of the season.
Scrum-half Lee Sandberg believes the team is now be better prepared for when injuries occur.
"Everyone has got to know each other, played in each others positions so you get that depth in the side to be able to fill in for each other," he said.
Over the break Greenhall has also brought in 15 new players to help cope with the physical demands of the league.
"In terms of league standing, we are going to be competitive," he said.
"I think there will be a couple of teams that stretch away but we will be competitive in the middle.
"We know we have strength at home in our support, but we are looking for solid performances both home and away."
