Exeter Chiefs claimed the bragging rights in the first Devon derby of the season with a hard fought victory over Plymouth Albion. Plymouth were leading 21-20 after 70 minutes at Sandy Park, but a late try from replacement Bryan Rennie put the hosts back in control. Kieran Hallet and Geoff Griffiths were the tryscorers for Albion, with Hallet adding the extras. The Chiefs' other tries came from Paul McKenzie and Richie Baxter.
